Ribbons of Grace
Somewhere out there is a mama bird with a flair for decorating. Most of the nests I’ve picked up after storms look similar. Some might be smaller and more compact, others larger with a loose weave, but all are cozy little pine straw homes. One mama bird, however, added something extra to her nest. She decided the reddish-brown pine straw needed a little bling. So she wove a green ribbon throughout the straw. A little of the miraculous in the middle of the mundane.

The nest reminds me that God weaves ribbons of grace through our lives every single day. He works miracles in the midst of our mundane. Golden sunlight breaking through stormy skies. Icicles sparkling on snow-packed branches. The giggles of a child. Healing after hurt. Reconciliation after resentment. Forgiveness for sin.
The greatest grace God gives is His gift of Jesus. John 1:14 proclaims “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.” Verse 16 goes on to declare “For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.”
Do you need grace for an issue in your life? Take your cares to God. He won’t turn you away. Hebrews 4:16 says “Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” He is waiting for you.
Join me in asking God to open our eyes to His grace in our lives. And in the process, let’s extend His goodness and mercy to those around us. A kind word, an understanding smile, a listening ear—these actions just might weave ribbons of grace into someone else’s life.
Now it’s your turn! How has God shown His grace to you today? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

We’ve been in desperate need of rain. We’ve prayed! The past three days we’ve received good rains, not too hard and no flooding. However, I know others may have received damaging rain, wind or floods. Prayers lifted for those in the path of storms. Thank you for this uplidting message of hope, Kim.

Thankful your area of the state has received the rain needed. God is merciful. Thinking also of His grace in turning the 2 hurricanes out to sea! Thank you for sharing, Katherine!

Beautiful story, Kim. Thank you!
An example is the little note or flower my husband leaves in the car for me after he washes and waxes it.
