What I Believe

The Bible

I believe the Bible, consisting of 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament, is God’s divine revelation and is without error in the original manuscripts. I believe the Bible is the final authority in everything pertaining to faith, doctrine, and life.

The Trinity

I believe in one eternal God existing in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, identical and perfect in nature and attributes.

God the Father

I believe God the Father, the first person of the Trinity, is the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ and of everyone who trusts in Jesus as their Savior.

God the Son

I believe Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity, was sent by the Father to be the Savior of the world. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, He was fully God and fully man. Tempted in all things yet without sin, He became our perfect sacrifice through the shedding of His blood on the cross. He rose from the dead on the third day, and His bodily resurrection assures redemption for those who have placed their faith in Him alone.

He is now at the right hand of the Father, where He intercedes and advocates for those who are His. He will return to earth to set up His kingdom.

God the Holy Spirit

I believe the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, regenerates, indwells, baptizes, and seals each believer at the moment of salvation. His ministry is to glorify Christ, and He empowers the believer to live and witness for Christ. He also convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.

Salvation

I believe mankind was created in God’s image, but because of universal death through sin, man is separated from God and can only enter His kingdom by being born again. This regeneration is accomplished through the work of God alone and not by works of man. The gift of salvation is received by trusting Christ as the only substitute for the penalty of sin.
